    Volunteers teach Mandarin in Nepal

    Over the past few years, the increase of cultural exchanges with China and a growing number of Chinese tourists have made Mandarin a popular foreign language in Nepal. To facilitate language learning in its neighboring country, China is sending approximately 130 volunteer teachers each year to Nepal to teach Mandarin, and there are Chinese “tour pals“ who go there on their own to teach Chinese calligraphy, martial arts etc.
