9 dead as truck topples over vehicle in central India

NEW DELHI, June 4 (Xinhua) -- At least nine persons, including three women, died and two were injured in a road mishap in central India early on Wednesday, confirmed a cop.

Those injured included a woman and a child.

The mishap occurred in the Jhabua district of India's central state of Madhya Pradesh at around 03:00 a.m., when a truck carrying cement bags toppled over a van carrying the victims, thus trapping them underneath.

The deceased were returning from a wedding at a relative's place when they met with the fatal accident, added the cop.

Those injured were admitted to a local hospital.
