The first China International Import Expo (CIIE) has kicked off today in Shanghai and will last for five days to November 10, 2018.
Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of CIIE and delivered a keynote speech earlier this morning.
Xi proposed the expo in May 2017.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up. Attracting over 2,800 companies, and more than 200 businesses on the Fortune Global 500 list, CIIE is expected to bring opportunities to all countries while China opens its market to the world and develops a modern economy.
